Type I diabetes is a serious health condition! How do you manage your health?
I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of 17. Most people feel sorry for me when they find out that I have it, but I always tell them not to because I wouldn’t have this if I couldn’t handle it.
I’m capable of doing everything that others do, I just need to take precautions. For instance, I always have a Gatorade with me when I take classes at TruFusion since physical activity can cause blood sugar levels to drop rapidly. I exercise frequently because it gives me so much energy and also because insulin can make people gain weight.
Almost 2 years ago, I also made the switch to a plant-based diet, which has completely changed my health since you only get cholesterol from animal products. A Vegan diet has helped tremendously with my strength and energy levels as well.
I believe physical health is the most important part of getting through diabetes. Diabetics, or just people in general, need to dig deep and find the motivation to help better their condition for the well-being of their future.
How did you hear about TruFusion?
Tatiana: I actually came to TruFusion because I heard from a coworker about their challenging classes and instructors, as well as their $7 for 7 days trial. So, I signed up, tried just about every class that was available and instantly became addicted to the intense workouts and positive atmosphere. The beautiful energy that you feel as soon as you walk through the doors is something I look forward to everyday. I always boast about how wonderful TruFusion is and how much it has changed my life in such a positive way!
Do you have any favorite TruFusion instructors or classes?
All the instructors are awesome at TruFusion, but I do have my favorites and I attend their classes religiously!
Liz is such a fabulous instructor. She is so educated in fitness and is such an awesome motivator. Her heart & soul are so beautiful and her aura is so colorful. She genuinely cares about each & every student in class and makes it a point to know everyone’s name. Liz also plays the best music to keep you pumped the entire time. She teaches one of my favorite classes, which is Barefoot Bootcamp. I’m absolutely obsessed with it! The high intensity and challenging exercises have made such a difference in my body and I’ve toned up so much from that class alone!
Martin is just a burst of fun, power & creativity and somehow is able to maintain the energy of all 3 traits for the entirety of each class he teaches. He has a great sense of humor and isn’t afraid to let loose, which makes everyone feel very comfortable to get just as crazy! He teaches my other favorite class, Hot Buddhi Yoga. There is no other class that has ever made me feel so free and so sexy! You basically dance like no one’s watching for an hour and it feels amazing to let your hair down & just let the music move you. It is one of the hardest classes I’ve ever taken and the funny thing is that you don’t use any type of equipment. It’s just you, the sensual music and the heat. When you combine those things, you get an exciting, brand new experience that makes gets you hooked and you find yourself counting down the days until the next Buddhi class! I’m so in love with it!
Do you have a personal motto/inspirational quote you would like to share with others who are fighting a similar battle with their health?
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” That quote stands out to me because I think so many people are so inclined to giving in to unfortunate situations, but I feel like you have to use them as motivation to push even harder to overcome anything working against you. Don’t use them as crutches or as excuses. You need to use them as strength to work harder than you could ever imagine. And always, always believe in yourself!
